The name Wigglesworth in its various spellings seems to have originated from the Manor written about here. Here we deal with the early times in this area, often with people, customs and artefacts we can only dimly envisage. Nevertheless it can give some impression to be superimposed on this part of the Ribble Valley and the surrounding hills such as Pen-y-ghent which we can see if we visit today.
